Italian Inset & Recessed Basins

Inset and recessed basins are designed to integrate with a bathroom worktop or vanity unit, creating a practical and visually coordinated washing area. Depending on the design, the basin can sit partially or substantially within the surrounding surface, reducing its visual height compared with a conventional countertop basin.

Basins for Vanity Units and Worktops

Recessed washbasins can be particularly effective when combined with bathroom furniture, allowing the basin, worktop and storage to form a unified installation. Selected designs can also be installed into bespoke countertops, giving greater flexibility when planning the bathroom layout.

Inset and Semi-Recessed Designs

Our collection includes fully inset designs as well as semi-recessed basins where part of the washbasin projects beyond the front of the worktop or furniture. Semi-recessed designs can provide generous washing space while allowing the surrounding furniture to remain relatively shallow.

Shapes, Materials and Finishes

Choose from rectangular, square, oval and rounded designs in a variety of dimensions. Alongside classic white ceramic, selected Italian collections are available in coloured ceramics, matt and gloss finishes and contemporary materials, depending on the manufacturer.

Installation and Tap Options

The dimensions of the basin, worktop cut-out and supporting furniture should be checked carefully before installation. Depending on the basin design, taps may be mounted directly onto the basin, installed on the surrounding worktop or mounted on the wall.
